Zippline and Ballena Technologies to provide
event seating views on the mobile phone

San Francisco, CA, April 22, 2005 - Zippline, based in Calabasas, California, a leader in mobile commerce products and solutions, and Ballena Technologies, Inc., headquartered in Alameda, California, whose product seats 3d.com is recognized as the premier sales and marketing tool in the sports entertainment industry, have announced an exciting new collaboration.

Zippline is debuting mobile ticketing in the United States at Pepperdine University and Ballena provides 3d seating views, via the internet in eleven professional sports leagues and several universities. “Mobile ticketing is a new, instant ticket delivery method compatible with any existing ticketing infrastructure,” stated Zippline CEO, Jim Dempsey.

“Online ticket purchases will be able to request a seat view on their mobile phone through the efforts of Ballena and Zippline,” said Ballena CEO, Rich Sherratt. “This is state of the art and we are very excited to be a major player in providing the ultimate in customer satisfaction.”

Zippline service takes advantage of MMS (Multimedia Message Service) functionality offered by U.S. mobile carriers. “The outstanding growth of mobile phone messaging and the carrier rollouts of new high speed mobile infrastructure mean that users expect more exciting content options. By teaming with cutting edge partners to deliver customized ticket products, Zippline serves this market,” states Jim Dempsey, CEO of Zippline. In fact, picture messaging is where the most interesting trends of mobile usage have occurred over the last quarter. Research from Enpocket’s flagship survey, the Mobile Media Monitor, reported that in the U.S., 22% of respondents took a photo with their camera phone and 12% sent and or received MMS in the same period. “This represents an increase of 57% for camera phone use in just 3 months, and 33% increase in MMS use in the same period,” reported the Mobile Marketing Research Center.
